Founder

Steve Coughran is a strategist, CFO, and founder of Coltivar. He partners with construction and service-based businesses to help them scale with clarity and control. With a background in finance, operations, and strategy, Steve is known for turning complex financial ideas into clear, actionable insights.

He has led finance and tech teams on billion-dollar energy projects, launched global ventures, and advised companies from $3M to $100M in revenue. Steve’s expertise spans capital planning, M&A, pricing strategy, and building systems that unlock long-term value.

He’s also the author of four books, including Cash Flow and Outsizing, and the creator of tools like the Margin Method™. As the host of the Building Margin podcast, Steve makes finance practical for owners, leaders, and field teams.
